Research

Being a licensed educator with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and two Master's Degrees in Instructional Design and Technology has resulted in having superior evidenced-based researching skills.  I firmly believe that without research, even the best instructional design program will be unsuccessful.  I have extensive experience in developing learner personas, completing needs assessments and conducting research on practically any topic. Whether it be speaking with customers, clients, SME's, upper level management or industry experts, I am able to compile the research necessary to take your project to the next level and your invisioned program will become the industry standard.

Innovative Instructional Design

Innovative instructional design is critical to capture the attention of today's learners. My e-learning/face-to-face designs integrate adult learning theory best practice with the latest software technology.  This combination increases learner engagement, fosters deeper understanding of content, and accommodates diverse learning styles. Well-designed instructional learning solutions not only improve retention and employee performance but also empower learners to adapt to modern challenges.

Gamification using Storyline360

This e-learning solution (game) was created for K-2 General education teachers in a classroom setting.  Historically, the school district only provided professional development in face-to-face instruction.  As part of a larger module on classroom behavior management, this game helped review items that can be placed in a "calm corner". (a space for student self-regulation)  Four items are hidden in the image and learners needed to use a flashlight to find them.  As they found the items, a popup would appear giving evidenced based research as to why this item should be conisdered. This game (analyzed with Likert-Scale data), was a success at acheiving a specific learning objective.

Scenario based learning with Articulate Rise360

Content should be delivered in ways to keep learners engaged.  In this corporate project, I was asked to create a SCORM compliant e-learning solution based off of a two-page company policy. Creating scenario based learning fit perfectly within the module on recognizing drug and alcohol impairment. See sample below.

Data Analysis

Determining next steps is crucial for iteration in the design process.  I have extensive experience analyzing data to determine if a learning solution has resulted in acheiving a specific learning objective.  I have created Likert-scale questionaires and used statistical analysis to determine effectiveness in design.  Using the data, I am well versed in interpretation and how to use the information to modify the e-learning solution as needed.

Compassion

A successful learning environment (whether it be e-learning or face-to-face instruction) is fraught with challenges.  Learners often come from differing socio-economic backgrounds, have various learning styles, or have accessibility issues. (physical limitations for e-learning) Being cognizent of these challenges is imperative to designing a successful learning platform.  I always strive to make the material accessible, relatable and most importantly effective for all types of learners.  My core philosphy is every learner is valuable and worthy of investment.
